Armed Security Officer - Part Time

About the role

As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol Operations in Bunn, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government. This part‑time position allows you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the “Claim a Shift” platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to authorized personnel, visitors, and staff while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to controlled areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, vehicle, and incident information in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and agencies as required.
• Maintain a visible presence, complete accurate reports, and communicate observed hazards, policy violations, and security‑related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$21.50 per hour

Schedule

Part‑time. Daytime schedule: Thursday 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM; Saturday 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM.
