As an Armed Security Officer (Part Time) in Austin, TX, you will receive reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it fits your schedule.

Pay

Pay Rate: $30.90 / Hour

Schedule

Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule, requiring a six‑month commitment. Through the Claim‑A‑Shift program you may pick up extra shifts via the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. This structure allows you to work part‑time hours one week and full‑time the next, with the ability to build up to a 40‑hour week and scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, contacting law enforcement, fire, medical, and/or management personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of commercial real estate buildings, parking areas, common areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to the property, verify credentials as required, maintain awareness of visitors and contractors, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Complete accurate reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Requirements

• Three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security‑related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Five or more years of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background investigation (federal, state, and local laws).
• Subject to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
