About the role

This is a flexible, dependable part-time enhanced security officer position for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As an Armed Security Officer for an office building in New York, NY, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the option to pick up additional shifts for extra earnings and experience.

This role requires a six (6) month commitment to your designated site and weekly shift. You can scale your hours up to 40 per week or adjust as needed, making it ideal for those seeking income stability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation headquarters.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, parking areas, perimeters, and restricted-access locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain awareness of visitor activity, and report suspicious conditions or policy violations.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation; coordinate with site personnel, law enforcement, and emergency response agencies when appropriate.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• State, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Valid firearms permit is preferred.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Schedule

Day/Time: Friday, 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM (fixed anchor shift).

Additional shifts may be picked up through the Claim-A-Shift program for increased earnings and flexibility.

Pay

$33.70 per hour.
