About the role
The Security Professional will conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior) in a hospital environment. Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, while documenting observations and reporting relevant details to site contacts and/or local authorities when needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity, verifying credentials when required and addressing unusual or suspicious behavior according to site protocols.
- Support Allied Universal and location personnel during emergency situations, alarms, evacuations, and/or de-escalation events, while maintaining professionalism and clear communication.
Requirements
- Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license in accordance with Allied Universal Policy.
- Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
- Be able to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
Qualifications
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licenses and certifications are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
