Armed Security Officer - Maryland - PT/FT (VAXCOM)

What You'll Be Doing
- Working eight (8) hour shifts that will include weekends and holidays at a 24/7 classified facility.
- Control access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the facility have the proper identification.
- Responds to situations at the facility using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force Policy.
- Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
- Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity.
- Maintains proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
- Performing screening procedures including the use of Handheld Magnetometers (HHMD) and Walk-through Magnetometers (WTMD).
Required Skills
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A current/active SECRET security clearance.
- Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- At least 2 years experience in either Law Enforcement, Department of Corrections, Security, or the United States Armed Forces.
- Meet minimum qualification standards with the Glock 17 pistol, Shotgun, and Rifle.
- First Aid/CPR/AED or other emergency response certifications.
- FEMA Courses 100, 200, 700 and 800.
Desired Skills
- Previous commercial armed security officer experience working with access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and other related physical security measures/processes.
- Previous experience working in a classified facility.
- Possess Maryland Guard Card and Handgun Qualification License (HQL).
- Ability to de-escalate conflicts and handle difficult situations professionally.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Security Clearance Requirement
An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Pay
Salary Range: $30.58 - $53.51
