Armed Security Officer - Healthcare

About the role

As an Armed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, surrounding grounds, entrances, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
• Maintain access points, verify authorized entry, and document visitor, resident, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Carry and maintain authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of either military, law enforcement, corrections or armed security experience*
