About the role

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer for a high‑profile government facility in Portland, Oregon (ZIP 97239). The role provides armed protective services, access control, patrols, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed patrols on foot or in a vehicle.
• Control access and assist employees and visitors.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, phones and console equipment.
• Respond to security issues and emergencies according to site protocols.
• Document safety concerns, security breaches and unusual activity.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old and a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements.
• Possess or be able to obtain Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid, federal and state firearms qualifications, weapons‑detection training, OC/baton/handcuffing certification, and defensive‑tactics and de‑escalation certifications.
• Meet one experience pathway: two years of armed security, two years of U.S. military service, or one year of full‑time armed civilian law‑enforcement experience.
• Hold a current driver’s license when operating a company‑ or customer‑owned vehicle.

Qualifications

• Multilingual ability (preferred).
• DHS Federal Protective Service clearance (preferred).
• Associate degree or higher in criminal justice, security management, business or a closely related field (preferred).
