About the role
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Lynchburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points and alarm activity, help to deter incidents through a visible presence, and respond to security‑related concerns. The position emphasizes exceptional customer service, clear communication, and a caring, team‑focused culture built on integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post instructions.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout manufacturing and industrial facilities, including production areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access to the location, verify credentials, document visitor and contractor activity, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions.
- Maintain required reports and activity logs, communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and follow applicable armed post procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
- Customer service experience (preferred).
- Alarm panel experience (preferred).
- Comfort using a computer or tablet (preferred).
- Baton certification (preferred).
- Must be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Drug screening as permitted by law.
- Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
- Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
