About the role

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location in Salem, VA, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, manage access points, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and the public while responding to concerns with integrity and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government transportation facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, road-related assets, and facility perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and report unauthorized entry, suspicious activity, property damage, and/or operational hazards.
• Maintain required armed officer qualifications, carry assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies, and prepare accurate incident and patrol reports.

Requirements

• Possess an armed Guard Card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

$15.50 / Hour
