Armed Security Officer - Full Time

About the role

As an Armed Security Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public agencies as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to government property, verify credentials as required, and assist with visitor entry procedures in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs documenting incidents, patrols, observations, and interactions with the public.

Requirements

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
