About the role
As an Armed Security Officer in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls and more. This part-time, driving position requires routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, responding to security-related concerns, and providing exceptional customer service. A valid driver’s license and Level III Armed Certification are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to retail store clients, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the store interior, exterior, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter to help deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
- Monitor customer and employee activity, access points, and high-value merchandise areas; report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities while maintaining a professional presence in a fast-paced retail environment.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Pay
$22.00 / hour
Schedule
- Monday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
- Saturday: 02:00 PM - 11:30 PM
