About this Contract
Security Officers perform various duties at a state courthouse. Their primary responsibilities include:
- Keeping people calm and orderly.
- Maintaining the reception area.
- Sweeping the building for suspicious activity.
- Monitoring security cameras remotely.
- Providing off-site security to VIPs.
- Assisting with courtroom staff and visitor concerns.
- Standing guard near hall and courtroom entrances.
- Assisting in emergencies, including providing first aid and handling unruly individuals.
This position is for an Armed Security Officer. It is part of a team providing these services. Officers do not detain individuals unless directed by proper officials. They may assist with courtroom security duties as needed.
About the Uniform
- Navy dress pants.
- Navy blazer and tie.
- Black belt.
- White button-down shirt.
The uniform is provided by the company. Shoes must be black dress shoes or loafers. Additional uniform pieces will be issued as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 1 year of verifiable prior experience in law enforcement.
- At least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed CPL or LEOSA cardholder.
- Passes a written psychological evaluation.
- Passes a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
- Able to sit, stand, and walk for 8-12 hours at a time and lift at least 70 lbs.
- Able to see clearly at least 20 feet away (assisted with glasses or contact lenses if necessary).
- Able to hear conversations in loud environments.
- Able to use a smart mobile phone or computer.
- Able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Professional and excellent customer service skills.
- Able to complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
Note
Employees previously removed from a contract or on disciplinary probation at the time of separation will not be considered.
Education Requirements (All)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- College Degree Certification Required.
Certification Requirements (All)
- Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
- LEOSA Credential.
