Armed Security Officer - Community Protection

About the role

This is a part-time Armed Security Officer position at a government location in Las Vegas, NV, offering a fixed weekly shift with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts through the company's scheduling platform. The role requires a six-month commitment to an assigned site and weekly "anchor shift."

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain required entry records, and report access concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation related to patrols, incidents, observations, and other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Skills

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $20.96 / Hour
• Schedule: Day Time, Tuesday, 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM
• Part-time position with option to pick up extra shifts up to 40 hours per week
