About the role
Armed Security Officer position based in Cleveland, MS, working 7 days a week from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Experienced armed guards required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrols on foot or stands in assigned area to ensure safety and security
- Provides customer service and performs general duties
- Uses proper communication skills for radio and telephone
- Prepares daily activity reports, Incident Reports, Fire Reports, etc.
- Maintains appearance and Equipment
- Multitasks with gates, cameras, metal detectors, etc.
Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Security Guard Permit, Training, or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean Background and Drug Test (Drug test will be administered)
- Firearm Training and own your own weapon
Preferred:
- LEO or Military background
Skills
- Knowledge of security and criminal investigation methods and operations commensurate with education/experience
- Ability to carry out assigned duties with integrity and honesty
- Skill in applying appropriate behavior when greeting and assisting members of the public
- Ability to understand and prepare written materials at a moderate level, such as incident reports, as would be required through completion of high school
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgement
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and maintain control of work flow
- Ability to maintain working relationship with co-workers
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit or stand or walk for long periods of time
- May be required to climb stairs, reach and grab items over your head
- Must have good balance and coordination
- Must be able to have close visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures (inspections and such)
- Ability to successfully participate and complete departmental specific required training that includes hands on training, firearm qualifications, and competencies
