About the role
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for protecting clients, employees, visitors, property, and assets while maintaining a safe and secure environment. The officer will perform security patrols, monitor access points, respond to incidents, enforce site policies, and provide professional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible security presence at assigned locations.
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
- Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and restricted locations.
- Verify identification and control access to the property.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and security incidents.
- Carry and maintain an authorized firearm in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
- Use sound judgment and appropriate de-escalation techniques when handling confrontational situations.
- Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems when assigned.
- Enforce client and company security policies and procedures.
- Contact law enforcement, fire, medical services, or other emergency personnel when necessary.
- Provide professional assistance and customer service to employees, visitors, and clients.
- Protect confidential information and company/client property.
- Maintain all required licenses, permits, certifications, and training.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements for armed security employment.
- Valid armed security guard license/permit, where required.
- Valid firearms permit or authorization, where required.
- Ability to successfully complete required firearms qualification and training.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, where required by applicable law.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for certain assignments.
- Ability to pass required background screening and drug screening, if applicable.
Prior to your interview, complete a background check at any police command center (fee: $13). If hired, the fee will be reimbursed 30 days after employment.
