Scope
Armed Security Officers protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors against criminal activity. They work on a team to control access at the entry/exit points of a local military headquarters and serve as a point of contact to all visitors and patrons.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation Rate of Pay: $19.50 per hour

Grayling, Michigan
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Guard posts at entry/exit points of the local military base
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of the grounds
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas
- Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications
- Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities
- Document daily activities and report all incidents
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age or older
- Current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- No felony convictions
- Criminal background check required
- Pass a drug test at time of hire and annually thereafter
- A citizen of the United States of America
- Impeccable grooming
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to become CPR/1st Aid/AED Certified
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security preferred
Physical Requirements
- Physically and mentally sound
- Able to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances and up and down stairs
- Able to respond to emergency situations
- Able to work in or outdoors during all seasons
- Able to hear conversations in noisy environments
- Able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds
- Pass a Physical Agility Test within 90 days of hire, and annually thereafter
Education Requirements
- All: High School Diploma or GED Certification
- Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
- LEOSA Credential (Additional)
