Job Description/Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Guard posts at the entry / exit points of the local military base
- Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas
- Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications
- Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities
- Follow site specific post guidelines
- Document daily activities and report all incidents
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age or older
- Current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- No felony convictions, and must pass a criminal background check
- Pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter
- A citizen of the United States of America
- Impeccable grooming (ability to adhere to Appearance and Grooming policy)
- Friendly, positive, professional image
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license, clean driving record, no recent violations
- Willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security preferred
- Physical requirements: physically and mentally sound, able to sit, stand, walk, respond to emergencies, work in/outdoors, hear conversations, lift up to 70 pounds, pass a Physical Agility Test
