Provide protection for individuals and property from injury and/or criminal acts, prevent unauthorized entry, and respond to emergency situations. Ability to pass state and FBI background checks is required. A felony conviction or class A misdemeanors may prevent licensure as a private security officer in Arkansas. This position is designated as safety and security sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing.
Schedule
This position follows a Panama shift schedule and will work 12-hour shifts. Shift days and times are to be determined.
Responsibilities
- Control access points to prevent unauthorized entry and illegal removal of assets.
- Greet and acknowledge each person entering or departing the property with positive eye contact, polite verbal greetings, and assistance with questions or directions.
- Patrol (foot and mobile) Stephens locations to prevent unauthorized access, security violations, theft, vandalism, misconduct, or maintenance issues (e.g., water leaks, malfunctioning equipment).
- Challenge unauthorized persons found on Stephens property.
- Monitor closed-circuit television and other safety/security systems.
- Maintain alertness for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or incidents; take corrective action, issue parking citations, or tow vehicles as necessary.
- Intervene in physical disturbances, prevent property damage, and subdue individuals when required.
- Communicate security policies and procedures to employees to enhance awareness.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations, providing backup support to other security units.
- Assist victims, request emergency services (police, fire, ambulance, towing), and aid incapacitated individuals.
- Provide first-aid and transport individuals as needed during emergencies.
- Assist law enforcement officers as required.
- Conduct building surveys and security audits to ensure safety.
- Write reports on security activities and communicate via radio or telephone.
- Maintain electronic and written records of security activities, equipment issuance, access cards, and clearances.
- Eligible for specialized roles such as Long Gun Operator, Special Response Team, or vehicle patrol operations (for Armed Officers).
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
- Current valid driver’s license; DUI/DWI conviction or pending charge may disqualify.
- Must qualify for and maintain a current Arkansas Armed Security Officer Commission (CSO).
- CPR/AED and Basic First Aid certification.
- Must be 21 years of age, bondable, and meet all Arkansas state requirements for private security officers.
- Authorized to carry firearms and use them as needed, in accordance with policy and laws.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation and pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
Pay
Starting annual salary: $45,000.00. Upon completion of Armed Security Officer certification (typically 1–2 months), salary increases to $48,000.00.
