ARMED Security Officer - $26.68/hr - Barre, VT

About the Role

This position is for an Armed Courthouse Security Officer based in Barre, Vermont, with the possibility of covering shifts at another courthouse site in Burlington, Vermont as needed. The ideal candidate is former or current military, law enforcement, or a security professional.

Schedule

• Full-Time, Monday to Friday
• 7:45 am - 4:30 pm
• Shift times and dates will remain consistent, but flexibility to travel between Burlington and Barre sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Foot patrol, screening, and access control
• Reporting and safety inspections
• Customer service and emergency response
• Actively monitor premises, including patrolling locations
• Preserve order and enforce regulations and directives
• Provide customer service and information to employees and visitors

Requirements

• 21 years of age minimum to receive an armed license
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be a citizen of the United States
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency
• Ability to pass an onboarding check and drug screen
• Ability to pass PSR test (personality assessment)
• Ability to pass pistol qualification
• Competency with a handgun, shotgun, baton, handcuffs, and use of force
• Comfortable walking/standing for long periods of time
• Strong customer service skills and high level of professionalism
