Armed Security Guard: Part-Time

Silver Star Protection Group (SSPG), established in 2014, is a security firm headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. We offer a comprehensive suite of services, including physical security, security system integration, consultation, and secure transport. Our clients span industries such as cannabis, commercial real estate, construction, and data centers. Our leadership team comprises professionals with backgrounds in law enforcement, military, and business sectors.

About the role

The Armed Security Guard is responsible for providing security services at a client site(s) during scheduled shifts. Schedule, site assignments, and hours may change based on client needs, staffing requirements, or contract adjustments. While SSPG strives to accommodate preferred schedules, flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at assigned client site(s), ensuring the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Work various shifts and client sites as needed; schedule and locations may change based on client needs or operational factors.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct regular patrols of the assigned site and monitor surveillance equipment, adhering to client security protocols.
• Document incidents, security breaches, or irregularities and report them promptly for follow-up.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Silver Star leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active OPOTA certification required.
• Must own a firearm with a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Previous armed security or related experience preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Capability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Schedule

Guards are expected to work scheduled shifts at assigned client sites. Shifts, site assignments, and schedules are subject to change based on client and SSPG needs. Flexibility is required to work additional shifts, including on-call or emergency coverage when needed.

Pay

$19–$20 per hour, with weekly pay on Fridays.
