About the role
This is a flexible, dependable part-time enhanced security officer position designed for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As an Armed Security Guard at a medical facility in San Antonio, TX, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the option to pick up additional shifts for increased earnings and experience.
This role requires a six (6) month commitment to your designated site and weekly shift. You may scale your hours up to 40 per week or adjust as needed, offering income stability and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the shelter location, surrounding grounds, entrances, exits, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and document patrols, incidents, and other security-related observations accurately.
- Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and follow all applicable laws, licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies for armed security duties.
Requirements
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- At least 3 years of military, law enforcement, corrections, or armed experience.
- Valid driver’s license (required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy).
- Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
Pay
$21.00 / hour
Schedule
- Fixed base shift: Wednesday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Option to pick up additional shifts through the Claim-A-Shift program for increased earnings and flexibility.
