Armed Security Guard
Job Summary
We are seeking vigilant and dedicated Armed Security Guards to join our team at the Syracuse Headquarters. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our facilities, employees, and visitors through proactive surveillance and incident prevention.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the facility is provided with high-quality services to protect people and property
- Maintain a security presence by patrolling both inside and outside of the facility
- Monitor security cameras
- Detect and report safety concerns and potential risks
- Responds within minutes to reports of suspicious activity
- Responds promptly to emergency calls for assistance
Qualifications
- High School Degree
- Ability to proactively identify problems, creatively develop and execute solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to interact with others in a friendly, professional manner
- Excellent verbal communication skills
Requirements
- Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements
- Must possess an active NYS Security Guard License and complete the 8-Hour pre-assignment Training
- Must possess the ability to receive a valid New York State pistol permit
Skills
- 47-Hour Armed Guard Training (armed positions only)
Working Conditions
- Moderate lifting 15-30 pounds regularly
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects
- Occasional heavy lifting of >50 pounds
- Be physically active, able to frequently sit, stand, or walk for observing patrols, for long periods, and comfortable climbing stairs and walking up inclines and uneven terrain
- Conduct frequent and random on-foot patrols of the building and campus perimeter
- Effectively demonstrates the ability to use proper techniques in controlling disorderly or combative visitors, personnel, or trespassers when necessary
- Work in extreme conditions, heat\sun, cold, wet, and temperature changes while fulfilling patrol duties
About the Role
This position is 100% in-office and reports to our facility on site in Syracuse, NY.
