Armed Security Guard

Location: Glen Allen, VA

Schedule

Full-time, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $34.00 per hour (DailyPay available for GardaWorld employees).

Responsibilities

• Physical fitness assessment and shooting qualification
• Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity
• Verify identities and control access to secure areas
• React quickly to threats or incidents
• Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
• Document incidents and actions taken
• Respond to alarms and conduct on‑site checks
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Minimum Requirements

• Prior tactical firearms experience and advanced training in emergency medicine (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years federal, state, or local law enforcement or military police experience
• Advanced skills in people and conflict management with tact, discretion, and de‑escalation techniques
• Ability to function in stressful situations while exercising good judgment
• Strong customer service skills and effective communication with the public under stress
• Weapon training qualification certification for the required weapon (or ability to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Participation in industry‑specific security/safety training programs
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws; may be required prior to employment

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Documentation of a high school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass an extensive screening process
• First‑aid certification (asset)
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
• Security, military, or law‑enforcement experience (preferred)
• State license if required
