Armed Security Guard

Responsibilities

• Protect personnel, facilities, equipment, and government assets
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols to deter and detect security threats
• Perform access control and visitor screening functions
• Enforce security procedures, post orders, and operational directives
• Monitor assigned areas for suspicious activity and unauthorized access
• Prepare incident reports, logs, and required documentation
• Respond to emergencies and security incidents
• Interact professionally with government personnel, contractors, visitors, and the public

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
• Must pass a comprehensive background investigation
• Must have an active Secret clearance
• Able to speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent verbal and written reports in English
• Must have an approved Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration
• Must not be in violation of the Lautenberg Amendment at 18 U.S.C. 922
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Minimum of two years’ experience, preferably with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization
• Must pass a drug test and medical evaluation exam
• Must successfully meet PAT physical agility standards (1.5 mile run under 17:30 and 19 push-ups under 2 minutes)
• Must successfully complete and pass the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory)
• Must complete the company-provided 160-hour NSGTC course and qualify with both pistol and rifle
