Job Description

As a Airport Law Enforcement Officer - Armed Patrol in Honolulu, HI, you will safeguard the airport, staff, and its facilities. Along with driving, patrolling, checking, and securing doors, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication to all visitors and staff.

Part Time - Morning/Afternoon

Pay Rate

$28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Schedule

  • Tue: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
  • Fri: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
  • Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age

Basic Qualifications

  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C.922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931 F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)).
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for their assigned post/duties.
  • In good physical health and be fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking patrolling for an entire shift(s), climbing stairs, running and self-defense.
  • Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
  • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
  • Subject to a random drug screen.
  • Must be able to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of their official duties.
  • Be able to successfully pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
  • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
  • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
  • Pass a 12-panel drug test and pass all future random drug testing.
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level. A hearing aid may be used to.

Skills

  • Ability to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.

Qualifications

  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders which may interfere with performance of duties.
