About the role
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and adults. Program participants protect and restore national parks, national forests, wildlife refuges, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, community green spaces, and much more across the country.
Responsibilities
- Maintain park facilities and trails
- Perform various natural resource management goals
- Assist with general park operations
- Provide information to guests
- Develop and present interpretive programs
Requirements
- Be a full-time student in good standing at an Arkansas college/university at the time of application
- Have declared a degree of study
- Have completed 60 hours of college credit by the time the position begins
- Be an Arkansas resident paying in-state tuition
- Maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
- Demonstrate coursework or knowledge related to work area
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Pass a criminal background check
- Have reliable on-site transportation
Qualifications
- Candidates must coordinate directly with their universities to obtain credit for their work
- Selected interns must be from universities that provide course credit hours for internships
- Local candidates only; housing is not available
Benefits
- Living Allowance: $500 per week
- Commuter Allowance: $50 per week
- AmeriCorps Education Award Eligible

$14.50 per hour
