Details for the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF)
The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) is located in Chinle, Arizona, near Canyon De Chelly National Monument. It is a 60-bed hospital serving as the primary healthcare provider for the region, with approximately 37,000 active users.
Healthcare services include Family Physicians, Internists, Pediatricians, General Surgeons, OB/GYNs, Anesthesiologists, and a Psychiatrist. The facility offers an opportunity to learn about strong Navajo cultural traditions and traditional Navajo medicine.
This advanced primary care elective is supervised by Jillian Mandor, MD, and involves working with Navajo patients in a rural setting. Students appreciate the chance to address health needs stemming from poverty and injustice in a beautiful, remote environment.
