About the role
The University of Mississippi is seeking an Arena Manager to manage the complete operations of the Sandy and John Black (SJB) Pavilion. This includes internal and external events, monitoring the budget, and supervising facility and event staff to ensure operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with institutional and organizational policies and conference guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of arena operations including event conversions, building and grounds maintenance, custodial services, building equipment, and safety procedures.
- Initiate and provide direction in event planning, administering budgets, cost control measures, and superior guest services.
- Supervise expenditures of capital and operating funds and maintain controls to ensure budget appropriations are not exceeded.
- Hire, schedule, supervise, and train conversion crews, maintenance personnel, contract labor sources, event-specific crews, and custodial service personnel.
- Serve as liaison between the building and clients regarding technical and operational issues such as staffing, power distribution, rigging, and equipment use.
- Ensure all assigned tasks comply with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Relevant experience: 5 years, with 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Required education: 4 Year Degree.
