Area Toll Practice Leader
About the role
The Area Toll Practice Leader at HDR is responsible for developing, coordinating, monitoring, and improving technical competencies of business class staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers within the Southern California market. This role involves participating in project services delivery, collaborating on business class efforts, and providing strategic and tactical input on business trends.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class all in support of the regional business group director and the Transit section manager.
- Aid in assigning qualified, experienced staff to projects including effective use of worksharing.
- Support operational managers in monitoring project performance and implementing corrective actions.
- Offer strategic and tactical input on business trends to business class and local office planning and assist in implementing actions to address market drivers.
- Facilitate business class teamwork, communication, and worksharing between offices, business classes, management, marketing, and staff.
- Maintain business class direction, adherence to policies and practices, quality assurance, technical tools, project staffing, and resource to workload allocation.
- Act as client manager, project principal, and project manager.
- Build technical expertise and production capacity through recruitment and training.
- Participate and engage technical experts in support of client development and project pursuits.
- Participate and encourage technical expert involvement in industry organizations and functions including presentations and publications.
- Facilitate lessons learned for project delivery, processes, trends, successes, strengths, and weaknesses.
Requirements
- Significant experience in the Southern California transportation market with clients such as L.A. Metro, Caltrans TCA, RCTC, SBCTA, OCTA.
- Experience in development and management of diverse teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years experience.
- Professional registration, license, or certification may be required based on role.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
