Essential Functions
- Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by practicing safe behaviors and immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
- Secures the building, including controlling access points (Associate entry/egress, receiving door, daily trash removal, etc.), checking the functionality of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) devices, securing the Cash Office, handling armored carrier pickups, and processing register transactions.
- Removes clutter and ensures safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
- Ensures customer safety by preventing accidents, reporting incidents, and following emergency procedures.
- Tests all fire alarm systems as scheduled and responds to after-hours alarms when requested.
- Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Maintains a professional appearance and ensures all associates adhere to the company dress code.
- Maintains cleanliness and merchandises the store to standard, disposing of daily trash.
- Handles receiving merchandise trucks, processes all merchandise with urgency, and manages non-merchandise inbound deliveries.
- Helps deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor after it has been processed, secures any back stock according to company policy, and merchandises departments including back stock.
- Prevents loss by reducing damage and ensuring compliance with monthly presentation guidelines in assigned areas.
- Supports loss prevention by maintaining a high customer service presence, engaging customers and associates, and being highly aware of loss prevention.
- Executes Company Best Practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and touches during front-end operations, managing the line to expedite customer wait time, training and coaching associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
- Trains and coaches associates on fitting rooms, ensuring garment tags are audited and accounted for to company policy, and ensuring go-back compliance throughout the day.
Customer Service
- Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
General Merchandising
- Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards through teaching, assigning tasks, and following up with company best practices.
- Processes all merchandise with urgency and handles receiving merchandise trucks when needed.
- Manages cleanliness and organization of stockrooms and helps deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor after it has been processed.
- Ensures compliance with monthly presentation guidelines in assigned areas.
- Executes floor moves and signing, including promotional signing as needed, and re-wraps as needed.
Loss Prevention
- Understands and complies with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and is responsible for store loss prevention, including maintaining a high customer service presence on the sales floor, engaging customers and associates, and heightened loss prevention awareness.
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Safeguards the public view monitor (PVM) system and conducts "Code 50" package inspections.
- Executes all company best practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working.
Front End Supervision and Operations

- Maintains pace, energy, and "presence" at the front end, managing the line to expedite customer wait time.
- Trains and coaches associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
- Ensures associates execute to company standards at the front end, ensuring aisle table salability, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks are merchandised correctly.
Administrative Duties
- Ensures cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted to company policy.
- Controls retail associates' break schedules for backups, lunches, and breaks.
- Maintains proper supplies and recovery for the front-end area.
- Ensures go-backs are expedited, properly scanned, security tagged, and ticketed.
- Teaches all associates the "scan and bag" best practice.
- Ensures salability of merchandise on the front end, aisle tables, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements and ADA
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
