Area Supervisor - New York, NY
Pay rate: $30.00/hr. Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
About the role
As an Area Supervisor, Mileage Sales, Lease, & Service, you will be responsible for the profitable management and effective execution of Mileage agreements with major commercial fleets. You’ll join a team with an average tenure of 10.3 years, enabling fast learning and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—ensuring the safety of tires on city buses that people rely on daily.
This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, with exposure to heat and cold expected. You will perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods, including light and heavy lifting (commercial tires and wheels), standing, bending, and squatting.
Responsibilities
- Manage, direct, and supervise personnel.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships, including making initial connections and building rapport with prospective customers.
- Ensure delivery on customer and contract requirements, including accounts receivable.
- Perform hands-on tire service: mounting, dismounting, regrooving (by hand and machine), balancing, and flat repairs for heavy-duty bus tires.
- Conduct vehicle inspections, inflation maintenance, and record keeping.
- Assist management with hiring and training.
- Observe and comply with all safety and liability guidelines and policies.
Requirements
- Ability to manage and direct associates.
- Valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle required; must meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
- Overnight travel up to 80% (company vehicle provided).
- Flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
- Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced team environment.
- Self-starter who can work without direct supervision and is willing to attend training sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of management experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience calling on prospective customers.
