About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and fitting room maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by understanding and practicing safety protocols, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and performing regular security checks.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Manage the store's merchandise presentation, ensuring cleanliness and organization, and handling daily trash removal.
- Ensure compliance with loss prevention policies, conducting "Code 50" package inspections, and maintaining a high level of loss prevention awareness.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes, train and coach associates, and manage the front-end area, including cash registers, shortage control policies, and other procedures.
- Supervise associates during breaks, ensure equipment and supplies are properly managed, and expedite go-backs.
- Manage administrative duties such as cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
