About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and fitting rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
  • Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code.
  • Manage the front-end area, ensuring associates execute to Company standards, controlling the pace, energy, and "presence" at the front end, managing the line to expedite customer wait time, and training associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all stockrooms, ensuring back-stock is secured and processed to Company policy, and merchandising departments including back stock.
  • Manage administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, such as conducting cash pulls and bank deposits, managing front-end control, and ensuring payroll administration.
  • Manage stockroom shifts if applicable, ensuring associates can push, pull, and lift more than 20 lbs.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
