About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, providing excellent customer service, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and executing Company operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
- Manage associates, ensuring they execute to Company standards at the Front End, train them on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures.
- Train and coach associates on "Scan and Bag" best practice, ensuring salability of merchandise on the Front End.
- Maintain pace, energy, and "presence" at the Front End to manage customer wait time.
- Manage the Fitting Rooms, ensuring their cleanliness and compliance with Company policy.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, such as conducting cash pulls, managing break schedules, and ensuring proper inventory management.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
