About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing general operations and supervision during the Manager on Duty shift. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, merchandise presentation, and loss prevention.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by practicing safe behaviors and immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
- Manage the security of the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, cash office security, armored carrier pickups, and register area.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
- Support the Company brand and maintain a professional appearance and clean, well-maintained store areas.
- Manage front-end operations, train associates, and ensure adherence to Company best practices and productivity standards.
- Supervise fitting rooms and ensure compliance with Company policies regarding merchandise returns and go-backs.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pull and bank deposit conduct, and manage associate schedules and payroll.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
