About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the Store. This position requires a deep understanding of safety, customer service, merchandising, loss prevention, and front-end supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
  • Manage customer safety, accident prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms when requested.
  • Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code.
  • Ensure all areas of the Store are clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
  • Process all merchandise with a sense of urgency, including receiving merchandise trucks and handling non-merchandise inbound deliveries.
  • Manage the Fitting Rooms, ensuring all garments are audited and accounted for to Company policy, and merchandise returned to the sales floor is ticketed, scanned, nubbed, and security tagged as needed.
  • Control retail associates' break schedules, manage the Front End area, and ensure proper supplies and recovery are maintained.
  • Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures.
  • Ensure salability of merchandise on the Front End, aisle tables, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks.
  • Manage cash pulls and bank deposits according to Company policy, and ensure Front End control when needed.
  • Administer payroll administration, including daily punch edits, Associate scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and Payroll reporting as needed.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
