Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining safe and secure environments, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front end supervision and operations, fitting rooms, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment
• Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed
• Manage associates' break schedules, ensure equipment and supplies are working properly, and expedite go-backs
• Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures
• Maintain pace, energy, and "presence" at the front end to manage customer wait time
• Manage the fitting rooms, ensuring all garments are accounted for and compliant with company policy
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Fluency in English
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to work evenings and weekends

Special Skills

• Physical requirements: able to stand, walk, and move around the store, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.; use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies

Qualifications

• Experience with point-of-sale equipment and applications
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
