About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the Store. This position requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by understanding and practicing safe behaviors, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and ensuring proper security measures are in place.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed, including handling merchandise, performing loss prevention duties, and managing front-end operations.
- Manage associates' break schedules, ensure equipment is working properly, maintain proper supplies, and expedite go-backs.
- Train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
- Maintain fitting rooms and ensure all garments are accounted for and compliant with company policy.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager, including conducting cash pulls and bank deposits, managing associate schedules, and processing payroll.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
