About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store. This position requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by practicing safe behaviors and immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
- Manage customer service by treating all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect and demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the company dress code.
- Manage loss prevention by understanding and complying with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintaining a strong customer service presence on the sales floor.
- Supervise front-end operations by ensuring associates execute to company standards, managing the line to expedite customer wait time, and training associates on cash registers and shortage control policies.
- Manage fitting rooms by ensuring all garments are audited and accounted for to company policy and merchandise returned to the sales floor is ticketed, scanned, nubbed, and security tagged.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
