About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the Store. This position is vital for maintaining a safe, secure, and customer-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
  • Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
  • Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
  • Manage the safety of the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, cash office security, armored carrier pick-ups, and register area.
  • Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Respond to after-hours alarms when requested.
  • Provide excellent customer service by treating all customers, associates, and leaders with respect and professionalism.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all areas of the Store are clean and merchandised to standard.
  • Manage the loss prevention efforts, ensuring compliance with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and conducting "Code 50" package inspections.
  • Supervise the front-end operations, ensuring Associates execute to Company standards and manage the line to expedite customer wait time.
  • Train and coach Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures.
  • Manage administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
