About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing general operations and supervision during the Manager on Duty shift. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, merchandise management, loss prevention, and front-end operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by understanding and practicing safety protocols, immediately correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, and performing regular security checks.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Manage the front-end operations, ensuring associates execute to company standards, controlling wait times, and training on best practices like "Scan and Bag."
- Oversee loss prevention efforts, conducting "Code 50" package inspections and adhering to the Loss Prevention Awareness Program.
- Supervise fitting rooms, ensuring garment tags are accounted for and merchandise returns are compliant with company policy.
- Perform administrative duties such as cash pulls, bank deposits, and payroll administration as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Special Skills
- Ability to use all store equipment, including point-of-sale terminals, registers, and computers.
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop, with occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
