Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area and managing the general operations and supervision of the Store. This position is vital for maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment, ensuring customer service excellence, and adhering to loss prevention protocols.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Manage security of the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, cash office security, armored carrier pickups, and register area.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
• Manage customer service by treating all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
• Support the store brand by representing and supporting the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance, and ensuring all areas of the store are clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
• Handle administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
• Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
• Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
