Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, customer service, general merchandising, loss prevention, front end supervision and operations, and fitting rooms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone.
• Immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Responsible for security of building including entrance/exit control, EAS devices daily function check, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick-ups and register area.
• Removes clutter and ensures safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
• Treats all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect.
• Ensures all Associates adhere to the Company Dress Code at all times.
• Ensures all areas of the Store are clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
• Ensures proper merchandise presentation, and maintains a clean work area at all times.
• Executes and supervises Company operational processes as needed.
• Understands and complies with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and is responsible for Store Loss Prevention.
• Trains and coaches Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies and other Front End procedures.
• Controls Retail Associates' break schedule for backups, lunches and breaks.
• Maintains pace, energy and "presence" at the Front End, managing the line to expedite; Customers wait time.
• Ensures Associates are executing to Company standards at the Front End.
• Ensures go backs are expedited, properly scanned, security tagged and ticketed.
• Teaches all Associates the "Scan and Bag" best practice.
• Ensures salability of merchandise on the Front End, aisle tables, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks.
• Maintains work area cleanliness and organization of all Stockrooms.
• Ensures merchandise returned to the sales floor is ticketed, scanned, nubbed and security tagged as needed.
• Ensures Fitting Rooms are maintained and cleaned.
• Ensures go-back compliance throughout the day.
• Ensures back-stock is secured and processed to Company policy.
• Ensures compliance to the monthly presentation guidelines in assigned area.
• Ensures floor moves and signing including promotional signing as needed.
• Ensures re-wraps as needed.
• Ensures proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area.
• Ensures all equipment is working properly.
• Ensures all merchandise is processed.
• Ensures loss prevention measures are in place and executed.
• Ensures public view monitor (PVM) system is maintained properly.
• Conducts "code" package inspections.
• Ensures all merchandise is processed.
• Ensures proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area.
