Area Supervisor

About the role

The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store. This position is vital for maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment, customer service, and general merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by understanding and practicing safe behaviors, immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
• Manage associates, ensuring they execute to Company standards at the Front End, train and coach them on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures.
• Control Retail Associates' break schedule for backups, lunches, and breaks.
• Maintain proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area, ensuring go backs are expedited, properly scanned, security tagged, and ticketed.
• Teach all Associates the "Scan and Bag" best practice.
• Ensure salability of merchandise on the Front End, aisle tables, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks.
• Maintain pace, energy, and "presence" at the Front End to expedite customer wait time.
• Manage the Fitting Rooms, ensuring they are maintained and cleaned, and all merchandise returned to the sales floor is ticketed, scanned, nubbed, and security tagged as needed.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager, such as ensuring cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted to Company policy, handling Front End control, and performing payroll administration.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
• Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
• Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
