About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by understanding and practicing safe behaviors, immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
- Ensure the security of the building, including controlling entrance/exit, EAS device checks, cash office security, armored carrier pickups, and register area.
- Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
- Provide customer safety by preventing accidents, reporting incidents, and following emergency procedures. Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code.
- Keep all areas of the store clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard, removing daily trash and helping deliver and place merchandise on the sales floor.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed, including loss prevention, front end supervision and operations, fitting rooms, and administrative duties.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
