Area Supervisor

This Area Supervisor position is located in Bakersfield, CA, with flexible day and night shifts and 24/7 on-call availability. The role requires high availability and strong communication skills to manage teams effectively in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day janitorial operations and administrative activities for a large portfolio of accounts to ensure conformance to contract requirements.
• Develop and implement cost control measures and service standards to meet customer specifications and contract requirements.
• Conduct inspections, quality control, and inventory management for equipment and supplies at assigned buildings.
• Maintain constant communication with clients to ensure service satisfaction and address concerns.
• Manage staffing, including hiring, corrective action, and termination, while maintaining labor levels within budget.
• Coordinate service activities to ensure performance aligns with contracted terms and profit margins.
• Interact daily with customers to gather feedback, address special needs, and troubleshoot issues.
• Oversee quality control monitoring, safety programs, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Conduct service inspections and attend training workshops, including training onsite staff.
• Develop operational improvement plans and implement process changes.
• Conduct site visits to monitor employee performance and address complaints.
• Handle hiring, paperwork, terminations, and labor variance action plans, ensuring timely submission.
• Analyze and proactively manage financial and operational performance of assigned buildings.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll submission and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Branch and Operations Manager to address invoices outside contractual parameters.
• Provide leadership to Supervisors and Lead personnel, directing and evaluating their performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a service or customer-oriented environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to write reports, present information, and respond to questions from managers and customers.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• High availability, including 24/7 on-call flexibility.

Travel is required. A criminal background check is mandatory.

Pay

$70,000 per year.
