About the Role
Manage area sales of OMICRON products and services in the Central East Territory. This includes business development, market evaluation, sales forecasting, and monitoring customers and leads. Coordinate promotional activities such as conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions, on-site demonstrations, and post-sale customer training. Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and ensure accurate, up-to-date information in the corporate CRM database.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support manufacturers' representatives in the Central East Territory, including training, forecasting, and performance evaluation.
- Participate in business development, market evaluation, and sales forecasting.
- Coordinate promotional activities including conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions, and on-site demonstrations.
- Provide post-sale customer training and service for products.
- Make recommendations for new products, service markets, and process improvements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve relationships with key accounts within the designated area.
- Summarize and report area sales status at Area Sales Managers meetings.
- Manage the prompt and correct quotation process with the Sales Support staff.
- Communicate routinely with other Area Sales Managers on competitive information, product issues, market trends, and customer perception.
- Maintain the corporate CRM database with new contact information and routine data reviews.
- Coordinate the use of Regional Application Specialists for technical expertise and expert-level sales presentations.
- Manage and record all sales activity as required via the CRM system per the OMICRON Sales Process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager – North America (East).
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in power systems, especially in power system protection and high voltage apparatus.
- At least 3 years of direct sales or sales partner management selling testing equipment, instrumentation, or apparatus for the electric power industry (preferred).
- Experience working with and managing manufacturers' representatives (preferred).
- Proven record of achieving targets for revenue and product sales.
- Participation in international, national, regional, and local conferences, exhibits, or seminars.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; or certification of completion of an electronic or electrical technical education (required).
- Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Skills
- Knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems and the apparatus used within these systems.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and maintenance practices for reliable power systems.
- Testing background is required.
- Excellent written, speech, presentation, and negotiating skills.
- Ability to demonstrate products on-site with or without assistance from applications engineers.
- Ability to present products, technologies, and test methodologies to various stakeholders via multiple channels.
- Reputable business and work ethics with strong personal character.
- Knowledge and understanding of the organization and business processes employed by electric power companies, government agencies, manufacturers, and industrial consumers of bulk power in the North American market.
- Goal and team-oriented with a willingness to work collectively to achieve corporate, regional, and personal goals.
- Ability to schedule and plan strategically or react quickly to a changing sales environment.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to travel domestically (up to 50%); international travel may be required.
Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly for customer communication. Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of objects over 50 pounds, and operating office equipment. Frequent sitting, occasional bending, and kneeling.
- Work Environment: Clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated office. Noise levels are low to moderate.
