Area Sales Manager - Jaipur
Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for achieving sales targets and driving market growth within a designated territory for Becton Dickinson India. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and leading a team of sales professionals to ensure optimal performance and market penetration of BD's medical technology products.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas and objectives for the territory.
- Manage and lead a team of sales representatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure individual and team success.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned area, including market mapping, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and hospital administration.
- Conduct regular market visits to understand customer needs, identify challenges, and provide appropriate solutions and product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with marketing, product management, and other internal stakeholders to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
- Maintain sales performance, analyze sales data, and prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage budget allocation and expenses effectively to maximize return on investment.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to promote BD's products and services.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the Indian healthcare market, including key customers, competitors, and regulatory landscape.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
