Area Quality Specialist - RN
Find your purpose giving patient care teams the knowledge and tools they need to better care for patients as an Area Quality Specialist Registered Nurse. This is a rare opening on a well-established team, available after more than a decade due to retirement. The role offers flexibility to work from home, plan your travel schedule, and travel regularly to all three west-coast states. Airfare, mileage, per diem allowance, and hotel stays are included.
About the Role
You won’t supervise anybody in this role, but you will lead. The position is remote with travel, working from home a little more than half the time. The other 50% involves site visits, spending 3-4 days at each location listed below.

Responsibilities
- Analyze CMS, Press Ganey, and AccentCare data to monitor trends and suggest ways to improve metrics
- Serve as the primary Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement resource for the region
- Provide expertise and preparation planning for triannual surveys to maintain our CHAP accreditation
- Help plan for planned external surveys
- Provide remote consultation during unplanned state surveys
- Perform annual quality audits for each location
Requirements
- Active RN license in any US state
- At least five years of healthcare experience
- At least two years of experience in home health nursing
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting
Skills
- Experience in a home health leadership/supervisory role (insights from this experience are valuable, though you won’t supervise anyone in this role)
- Effective communication skills via multiple media: report writing, presentations, email, in-person, and video (MS Teams)
- Effective critical thinking skills that lead to sound judgment
- Ability to authentically earn and maintain trust among staff, leaders, and executives
- Wherewithal to follow established quality processes and procedures
- Knowledge of regulatory standards for the home health, PCS, Hospice, and/or Medical Home Care industry
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement, Utilization Review, and Risk Management principles

$95,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience
