About the role
This role is within the Water Business Group at HDR, a company dedicated to making great things possible through innovation and collaboration. The Area Pump Station and Pipeline Business Class Leader (BCL) plays a crucial role in shaping how communities manage water resources.
Responsibilities
Develop Technical Leadership and Best Practices: Lead the development, monitoring, and improvement of technical capabilities within the Business Class, integrating national BC expertise and industry best practices into local project delivery.
Promote Program Growth and Development: Grow and develop area staff in the Business Class, setting and supporting growth initiatives like new client and project opportunities across all market sectors.
Deliver Projects/Programs: Manage and lead a team of professionals practicing within the Business Class, ensuring the successful completion of key projects and programs.
Requirements
Minimum of 15 years’ experience leading projects and teams with a focus on pump stations and pipelines.
Proven ability to manage all aspects of project delivery, including project teams, deliverables, quality processes, and administration (scope/schedule/budget).
Strong leadership skills, including team management and motivation, communication, and growth and development strategy.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines, balancing multiple projects by prioritizing effectively.
Strong understanding of applicable industry standards, laws, policies, and procedures.
Ability to build, implement, and manage training programs; workload and staffing plans; marketing plans and proposal preparation; and business group budgets.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field.
10 years of experience.
Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
